HAIKU FROM A DEAD POET

(HAIKU DE UM POETA MORTO)

São Paulo, 2020, 5'

Brazilian Competition 5

In a simple and precious way, memory presents itself in this film as an editing studio and the haikai as an epiphany of an instant. Shot on a mobile device, the short film is addressed to a loved one: nothing to say, much to declare. Through a spark of resemblance projected on the image of an ordinary window, someone leaves a message intended to cross land and sea. In spite of that, a letter, as a witness of what once was, is also an evidence of the time that pervades it and transforms bonds.
